Joseph Oross, 73, passed away Tuesday night at Sunnyside Care Center after a lengthy illness. Born in Shamokin, PA, he grew up in Baltimore, MD and New York City, before moving to the Syracuse area, where he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He served as a Medic in Vietnam from April 1964 to April 1966. He is predeceased by his parents, Stephen and Natalie Oross; sister, Dorothy; and a brother, Daniel.
He is survived by his wife, Maybelle; a son, Justin; a daughter, Stephanie; four brothers, Stephen (Dolores), John (Regina), George and Theodore; two sisters, Roz (Manny) Patino and Diane (Mark) Swain; and many nieces and nephews.
No calling hours will be held. His remains will be interred at Arlington National Cemetery.
