Joseph R. Mcginley

Joseph R. McGinley, 81, of Syracuse, passed away surrounded by his loving family on September 30, 2023. Joe was born in Syracuse, NY on December 17, 1941 to Millard & Ellen McGinley. Joe proudly served in the US Marine Corps. He retired from Western Electric & Crouse Hinds. Upon retirement, he was employed with Lyndon Lawns Mobile Park, Central Square. He was an avid golfer, hunter, fisherman, loved playing cards & spending time at the casino. Above all, Joe loved his wife Linda of 50+ years, his daughter & grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife Linda who passed just 44 days prior; granddaughter, Julia Reade; sister, Janice Blake; two brothers, Gary and Leonard McGinley; parents, Millard and Ellen McGinley.

Joe is survived by his daughter, Kelly (Bruce) Reade; two granddaughters, Jillian (Andrew) Reade and Jessica (Matt) Reade; great granddaughter, Peyton MacMaster; two brothers, Millard (Judy) McGinley Jr. & William (Connie) McGinley; eight sisters, Martha Brown, Patricia McDougal, Sue (Frank ) Lobasco, Barbara Liberatore, Mary (Charlie) Kammar, Joan (Jim) McDougal, Loretta (Charlie) Brundage and Judy McGinley; and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held Monday, October 16, 2023 from 3pm - 5pm at New Comer Cremations and Funerals, where funeral service will follow at 5pm.
