Joseph Cornelius King

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Joseph Cornelius King, 84, of Clay, New York, on January 20th, 2024. He was born on October 21st, 1939, in Pittston, Pennsylvania, to his late parents, Martin and Theresa King.

He is survived by his loving wife, Darlene King; daughter, Tammy Fagan (Robert Comito); daughter, Jerri King (Michael Bagato ); Stepson, Erik Sorensen (Miranda); and Stepdaughter, Betty Lyons (Sidney Hill) and ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Joe was a proud veteran of the United States Navy and a dedicated employee and Union representative of AT&T and Lucent Technologies for 35 years.
Joe was the kindest of hearts with a gift for listening and finding humor in almost any situation. He was an avid reader, family videographer, and knowledge seeker and could often be found on his computer. Joe loved his boat and appreciated jobs well done. He was our confidant, partner, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and uncle. And he was our friend. A beloved integral part of our family, he gave us stability and much love when needed. We will cherish our memories of him.

Calling hours are Friday, January 26, 2024, from 10:00 am-12:00 pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals - North Syracuse, 705 N. Main St, Syracuse, with a service at 12 PM. Interment to follow at Onondaga Valley Cemetery.
