John W. Ukrainec, 84, of Cicero, passed away on Saturday at St. Joseph's Hospital after a brief illness, surrounded by his loving family.
He served in the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict and retired from Carrier Corp. after 35 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and was an avid golfer. John was predeceased by his first wife Joan (Collins) Ukrainec in 1992, his brother Stanley and his sister Mary.
Surviving are his beloved wife, Isabella of 15 years, his son Bill (Debbie) Ukrainec, 3 step children; Jim (Susan) Carr, Barbara (Tom) Forleo, Jeanette (Craig) Elwood, his 2 sisters; Josephine Charuk & Olympia Usher, 8 step grandchildren, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 4-7pm at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main St., North Syracuse.
Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the North Area Meals on Wheels.
