John T. Moebs, Jr., 97, is now in the arms of his Lord. He went surrounded by family, at his home, on Sunday, a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He retired in 1979, after 39 years, at Rockwell International (Porter-Cable) as Chief Tool Engineer. He was a long-standing member of the American Society of Tool & Mfg. Engineers. He was a Trustee of Thompson Road Free Methodist Church. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, and working in his machine shop at home.
He is survived by his wife, Nettie Moebs; his children, Richard (Audrey) Moebs, Annette Celestian, Cheryl Lenio, and Ron (Colleen) Pierce; his brother, Harry (Loretta) Moebs; 12 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son, Jack W. Moebs; his sisters, Rachel Waibel and Betty Eastwood; and his parents, John Moebs, Sr. and Helen Lentz Moebs.
Calling hours will be held Friday, November 23, 2012 from 4-7 pm, at New Comer Funeral Home. Services will be Saturday, November 24, 2012 at 10:00 am, at Lake Shore Baptist Church, 6696 Lake Shore Rd., Cicero, NY 13039, with the burial to follow at White Chapel Cemetery, Kinne Rd., DeWitt, NY 13214.
