John “Skip” Stethers, 74, of North Syracuse, passed away with his family by his side on January 5, 2025 at Strong Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Syracuse on January 10, 1950 to the late Robert and Helen Stethers.
A 1968 Chittenango High School graduate, Skip worked for and eventually retired from Anheuser-Busch. In his free time, he loved woodworking and creating stone artwork. He enjoyed fishing, cooking and working with his hands. He loved road trips on his Harley with his best friend, Joe Melfi for a burger or turkey club.
He is survived by his children, John (Wendy) Stethers, Trisha Stethers, Charlene (Nancy) Beach and Sarah Stethers; mothers of his children, Chris Limon and Carrie Stethers; grandchildren, RJ Beach and Ashlynn Stethers; siblings, Susanne Stethers-Brew, Deborah Stethers-Dunlap and Joseph (Liz) Stethers.
He was predeceased by his parents; siblings, Howie Stethers and Jackie Ladd; and his grandmother, Essie Bowman who meant very much to him.
Visitation will take place on Wednesday, January 22, 2025 from 4-7 PM at New Comer Cremations & Funerals with a service to follow at 7 PM.
