John R. Seymour

John R. Seymour, 64, known by many as "Dog" of Mattydale, passed away on Tuesday, October 17, 2023 at his home surrounded by loving family. John was born in Syracuse, NY on July 20, 1959 the son of the late Herman and Mary Seymour. John was the brother of the late James, Herman, William and Catherine Kick. John also was the late Uncle of Lisa Kick and Jeffrey Dorr.

John was a mechanic for many years and was last employed at Hobbs Automotive in Syracuse. He was also a member of ABATE of Onondaga County.

He is survived by his better half, Katherine Bodah; daughter, Jessica Taylor of Syracuse; sons, Jayson Seymour of Syracuse and John Harp of Virginia; a sister, MaryAnn Door (Neil) of N Syracuse; nephew, James Kick of Mattydale; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins, a granddaughter, Mya; grandsons, Tyler, EJ, and Michael; and great grandson, Malahkai.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 28th from 1-4pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 705 N. Main St., N. Syracuse, NY. A celebration of life will follow at the Loop Grill 1114 Wolf Street Syracuse, NY.
