John W. Schad, age 78, of Liverpool passed away on Monday.
He was born on October 3, 1940 son of the late John and Anna Schad.
He served in the US Navy and was the recipient of the Good Conduct Medal. He retired from Western Electric and also retired from Agere Systems, Inc. John was a member of the Telephone Pioneers and volunteered at the Gregory J. Harris Military Room at Syracuse Airport.
He is predeceased by his sister, Mildred McIlroy, and brother, Donald Schad.
He is survived by his daughter, Jacqueline A. Schad, son, Steven Schad, 4 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, brother, David (Shayron) Schad, sister-in-law, April Schad, along with several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday from 4 to 7pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 705 N. Main St., N. Syracuse. Funeral services are on Saturday 10 am at the funeral home.
Burial will take place at White Chapel Cemetery, DeWitt.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
