John W. Rose

October 21, 1944 — August 9, 2021

John W. Rose, 76, of Syracuse, passed away on Monday, August 9th at St. Joseph's Hospital. John was born in Syracuse on October 21, 1944 son of the late John and Eileen Rose. He joined the US Army at the age of 17 and after his military service he was employed at New Process Gear. John was a Syracuse Firefighter for 32 years, retiring in 2002.

He was a man of faith and wanted people to know that Jesus was most important in his life. He enjoyed spending quality time with his family and his many friends. He was the guy who always knew "a guy" for any job. He was a problem solver, giver of his time, and lifelong jokester. He was also a "Foodie." He could tell you where all the best diners were located. He had a real zest for life and enjoyed traveling, playing golf, and pool to name a few. He had a sarcastic sense of humor that sometimes only his friends could understand.

He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Rose, 2 daughters, Michele Rose, Teresa (Sean) Dunn, 4 grandchildren, Sean, Julie, Gordon, Benjamin, his sister, Patti (Collin) Coogan, along with several cousins, nieces and nephews.
