John R. "Mickey" McMenamin

John R. "Mickey" McMenamin, 60, of Winter Haven, FL, passed away Monday. Born in Hazleton, PA, John was an NRA Certified Gun instructor at Tim's Guns and Range in Winter Haven, FL. He was the owner of the Bebop Shop of Liverpool NY. He was a member of the Syracuse Pistol Club and won many shooting trophys. He was formerly employed by Gerber Music and Bonne Music. He was an avid biker, a sharpshooter and drummer. He was a drummer for Ognir and the Night People in PA, and also played with many local bands. He was predeceased by his son, Sean M. McMenamin, father John J. McMenamin, maternal grandmother Anna (Schmutzer) Gennaro and paternal grandmother Anna McMenamin.
He is survived by his mother, Lillian McMenamin; his wife, Teresa Miller; stepchildren, Lisa DeMarco, Frank DeMarco, Erika Miller and Gabrielle Cardarelli; step- grandchildren, Shane, Destiny and Darriel; Cyndi McMenamin, Sean McMenamin's mother.
Services will be Saturday 4 p.m. at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main St, N. Syracuse. Calling hours will be Saturday from 1-4 p.m.at the funeral home. A memorial will be scheduled in Florida as well.
Donations are requested by the family, in lieu of flowers, to the Sean McMenamin Memorial Scholarship Funds for the Arts, % North Syracuse Dollars for Scholars, PO Box 5205, Syracuse, NY 13220-5205
