John R, Matteson, 85, of North Syracuse, passed away Monday at the VA Medical Center. He was a WWII Veteran serving in the U.S Marines Corps. He was predeceased by his son William James.
John is survived by his wife of 59 years, Maryann; sons, Gary (Jackie) and Michael (Cindy) Matteson; six grandchildren, five great grandchildren; sister, Emmerita; several brother and sister in –laws, nieces and nephews and special friend, Russ.
Services will be Friday 11 a.m. at Buckley Road Baptist Church, 4962 Buckley Rd., Liverpool, NY. There will be no calling hours.
Contributions can be made to the Veterans Hospital in Syracuse.
