John R. MacViccar
December 17, 2012

John R. MacViccar, 78, of North Syracuse, passed away on Monday, after a long battle with his illness. He retired from Lockheed- Martin, previously GE, after 35 years of committed employment. During his life he acquired two Bachelors degrees, and Masters, graduating from Syracuse University, where he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon. He was a member of the American Legion and VFW, and volunteered often, through the GE Alfun Society, to help the handicapped, and assist the Boy's Club of America. He is predeceased by his sister, Jean Ravick.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon MacViccar; three children, John Derrick MacViccar, Richard (Michelle) Buonocore, and Cheri (Dan) Palmeter; three grandchildren, Jacqueline Buonocore, Marissa Palmeter, and Makayla Palmeter; and a niece, Peggy Guerin.

Services will be Thursday, at 11:30 am, at New Comer Funeral Home, N. Syracuse. Calling Hours will be Thursday, 10:30 to 11:30 am, at New Comer Funeral Home, N. Syracuse. Burial will be at North Syracuse Cemetery.
