John P. Poniatowski, 74, of DeWitt passed away Tuesday. He was born on February 7, 1937 a son of Chester and Wanda Poniatowski. He graduated from Fayetteville High School in 1955, attended LeMoyne College and Syracuse University. He owned and operated several franchises in Pennsylvania, Myrtle Beach, S.C., Seattle, WA and Houston, TX. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was an excellent Bowman, Golfer and Skier. He served as a Navigator Cadet at Lackland AFB, TX and was in the Air Force Reserves.
He is survived by his wife Deborah, step children Skyla, Tammy, Elizabeth and Timothy; sisters Jane Nyc, Wanda Simiele, along with several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brother Frank and sister, Sherry.
Calling hours will be held on Monday from 4-6pm at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main St., N. Syracuse followed by a memorial service at 6 pm.
Burial will be private in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Geddes.
