John W. Mulvey

John W. Mulvey, 69, of Syracuse, passed away November 18, 2023. John was born in Rome, New York on August 26, 1954 to John and Eileen Mulvey. John retired from Syracuse University, after 35 years of employment as a groundskeeper. After retirement, he worked in pool maintenance for the City of Syracuse and drove vans for the National Church Residency. In his free time, he enjoyed sports, specifically the Dallas Cowboys.

John was preceded in death by Mother, Eileen Mulvey; sister, Kathleen Mulvey; and brothers, Thomas and James Mulvey.

He is survived by his daughter, Kathleen Mulvey; step sons, William Chafee II and Robert Chafee; grandchildren, Biannca Mulvey-Smith, Kaleb Mulvey-Smith, Sidney Chafee, William Chafee III, Kyleigh Smith; father, John J. Mulvey; sister in law, Laurie Mulvey; and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours willing be held Tuesday, November 28, 2023 from 4-7pm at New Comer Cremations and Funerals. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held the following morning at 10:30am at Sacred Heart Church, Cicero. Burial will be made in Assumption Cemetery.
