John D. Melnik, 80, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully on Wednesday.
He served in the U.S. Army for 4 years in the 50's. John retired from Harrison Bakery after working for over 20 years as a baker. He enjoyed watching baseball, especially the Syracuse Chiefs games. John was predeceased by his wife, Sandra and his brother, Hank.
John is survived by 4 children, Fred (Lee), Mike, Chris (Marybeth) and Fran (Mike) Fuller; 5 grandchildren; sister, Barbara (Nick) Foscolo; brother, Jimmy; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be Sunday, June 14th 1-4PM at New Comer Funeral Home, N. Syracuse.
A funeral service will be Monday, June 15th 10AM at New Comer Funeral Home with burial to follow in White Chapel Memory Gardens, Dewitt.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the VA Medical Center, 800 Irving Ave., Syracuse, NY 13210.
