John J. Maslak

September 23, 1955 — December 15, 2019

John J. Maslak, 64, of Clearwater, FL, formerly of Syracuse, NY, passed away on 12/15/2019, peacefully at his home, surrounded by his family, after a courageous battle with lung disease.

He was born in Syracuse and moved to Clearwater, FL in 2015.

He worked at Clinton's Ditch for 20 years, before working at Sysco Foods for 12 years.

He was a member of St. John the Baptist Ukranian Catholic Church. He was an avid bowler. He loved all sports, especially baseball and hockey. He also enjoyed fishing, but mostly because he loved the sun.

He is survived by his wife, Lori, who he was with for 20 years; son, John (Lindsay) of Syracuse; daughter, Michelle (Eric Jackson) of Syracuse; brother, Mike Maslak of Syracuse; twin sister, Julie (Roy) Patchett and 17 grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his parents, John and Helen Maslak, and his sister, Joyce Barry.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, January 15th, from 4:30-6:30pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 705 N. Main St., N. Syracuse. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, January 16th 10am at St. Rose of Lima Church, North Syracuse.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Lung Transplant Foundation.
