John C. Martineau

John C. Martineau, 72, of Cicero, passed away peacefully on Tuesday September 12, 2023, at his home surrounded in love by his wife Linda. John was born in Syracuse on December 3, 1950, son of the late Clyde and Marjorie Martineau. John retired after 41 years from the US Air Force as a Senior Master Sergeant. He was an avid SU basketball fan and enjoyed spending time on the St. Lawrence River. He was also an active member of the Cicero United Methodist Church, often found ushering Sunday worships.

John was a remarkable man; he was humble, he was kind, and he was a constant loving presence in so many lives. Regardless of chores at hand, he was always willing to provide a lawnmower ride to his littlest admirers. Though we're not quite sure who loved those rides and giggles more; the children or him. John will be missed terribly by the children and their families who he and Linda cared for during her many years of Lasting Memories Childcare.

Sadly, John was predeceased by his daughter, Rachel Martineau, and his son, Joshua Martineau.

He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Linda Martineau, along with brothers, in-laws, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 9-10am on Saturday, September 23rd at Cicero United Methodist Church, with services immediately following at 10am. Burial will follow at North Syracuse Cemetery.
