John F. Marsala's, 68, journey on this earth came to an end June 4, 2023.
John was born in Canastota, NY on November 13, 1954 to Glenn and Margaret (Stacy) Marsala. John spent most of his life in the Oneida, NY area where he raised his three older sons - John, Keith, and Jason. In the mid-90s, John moved to the Syracuse, NY area with his wife, Beatrice, and youngest son, Trey. For the past 18 years, John has resided in East Syracuse.
John was a skilled custom cabinet and furniture maker. He worked for many Syracuse-area businesses, including Stickley. His work could be found in many local businesses including the old Borders, Empire Vision, and many more. He also loved to rebuild and fix cars, having rebuilt several 40s and 50s models. There was always something that he was tinkering with and trying to either fix or improve.
John was predeceased by his parents, Glenn and Margaret; brothers, Michael and Vincent; and son, John II. Surviving him are his wife, Beatrice (Wagoner) Marsala of East Syracuse; brother, Glenn Marsala II; sister, Susan (Marsala) Bliss; three sons and four daughters-in-law: Stacy Marsala of Canastota; Keith and Jodi Marsala of Canastota; Jason and Michelle Marsala of West Winfield and Trey and Christina Marsala of Brewerton; 12 grandchildren: John III, Karstin, Dylan, Styx, Destiny, Elizabeth, Synthea, Alexandra, Jason II, Natalie, Nathan, and Lexi; nieces and nephews: Shannon Marsala, David Marsala, Rebecca Wagoner, Jessica Wagoner, Danielle Wagoner; and many more.
Per John's wishes, no memorial services will be held. A private gathering will take place for family and friends this summer. Interment will be at Whitelaw Cemetery in Canastota, NY. Contributions may be made in his name to the Francis House in Syracuse, NY.
