John H. Luhr, 65, of Baldwinsville, passed away peacefully on May 17, 2024 surrounded by his family and friends. John was born in Syracuse, New York on October 18, 1958 to Thomas and Rita Luhr.
John retired from Empire Transportation, Syracuse, as a medical transporter. He grew up boxing, training at North High Recreational Center. He earned the Gold Gloves. John was an avid motorcyclist, spending the weekends riding his Harley with friends. In his free time, he enjoyed vacationing in Aruba with his family, playing Let it Ride at the casino, and spending quality time with his grandchildren, Maddy, Jenna and Shiann and his nieces and nephews. John was the life of the party and had a big heart. He was a great friend to many and lived to make those around him happy. John will truly be missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Rita Luhr; sister, Anne Luhr; and brother, Bobby Luhr.
John is survived by his wife, Pattie Luhr; children, John (Katie) Luhr, Jr., Alisha (Victor) Sweeting, Summer Costello and Kim (John) Fenton; several grandchildren; great grandchildren; father, Thomas (Deb) Luhr; brothers, Tom (Cindy) Luhr, Mark (Beth) Luhr and Andy (Mary) Luhr; and many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held Wednesday, May 22, 2024 from 4-7pm at New Comer Cremations and Funerals where a funeral service will follow at 7pm.
