John "Jeff" Stark Jeffreys, Jr., 58, of Syracuse, passed away Monday May 11, 2020 at Loretto Health and Rehabilitation.
John was born and raised in Packanack Lake, NJ and he was a 1982 graduate of Wayne Hills High School in Wayne, NJ. After relocating to Liverpool with his family, John was employed in cleaning services for multiple local businesses and car dealerships. His love for cleaning and cars spilled over into car detailing, and he could often be found shining up his or a loved one's vehicle.
At a young age, John was diagnosed with atypical Parkinson's Disease. No longer able to live safely on his own, John moved into Loretto Health and Rehabilitation in 2006, and soon became a fixture in the Fahey and Cunningham buildings, and developed connections with administrators, staff members, and other residents. These connections allowed John to live with dignity, even as his disease progressed.
John was predeceased by his grandparents, Edwin and Edith Jeffreys; and Milton and Catherine Alexander.
He is survived by his loving and devoted parents, John Sr. and Karen (Alexander) of Baldwinsville; sister, Linda Lawrence of Syracuse; brothers, Brian of Baldwinsville and Christopher (Kimarie) of Tucson, AZ; his special aunt, Jane (Ken) Hess of Landing, NJ and his special uncle, Bruce (Kathy) Alexander of Candlewood Lake, CT; 10 nieces and nephews; and multiple cousins.
The family would like to express gratitude to everyone at Loretto who has cared for John over the past 14 years. A celebration of life service will be held at a later date, when it is safe to do so.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Loretto Health and Rehabilitation's Resident Council, 700 E. Brighton Avenue, Syracuse, NY 13205 or United Church of Christ in Bayberry, 215 Blackberry Rd. Liverpool, NY 13090.
