John J. Polito, 87, of North Syracuse, passed away on Monday at his home with his family by his side. He served in the US Navy during WW II. Upon discharge, he worked at GE as a railroad engineer. Later John was co-owner of the Family Food Market on Butternut St. John was an avid bowler with multiple 300 games as a semi pro. He also enjoyed Ball Room Dancing.
Surviving are his wife Elsie, of 66 years, son, Ron , grandson, Ryan, 2 sisters, Rose Lobough and Carmela Witkowski.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 4-7pm at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main St., North Syracuse. A funeral mass will be held on Friday 10am at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Liverpool.
Entombment will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery.
