J.J. (John H. Manuel 3rd), 36, born on 1/25/1978 in Syracuse, NY, closed his earthly eyes on Tuesday after a brief illness with his family at his side, just to open them again in Glory. J.J. attended the North Syracuse School District and Bryant and Stratton Institute where he majored in business. J.J. was a long term associate at Zonen Ltd. He enjoyed riding motorcycles with his brother, kung fu, shooting pool and dancing, along with hanging out with his friends and being the life of the party. J.J. also enjoyed doing carpentry work and being there when his friends were in need. J.J. is predeceased by his father, John H. Manuel, Jr., grandfather James Rhone, grandmother Ida Mae Saxon Rhone, uncle Willie Saxon and his daughter, Kaylee.

Surviving are his mother Rev. Eleanor Manuel-Robinson, (Rev. Gregory Robinson, Sr.), sisters: Eleanor J. Manuel, Syracuse, Dr. Ann McCants Taylor , OH, Debra L. Lyons, FL, brothers: Jeffrey L. Manuel, Syracuse, Reginald (Jana) Manuel, Syracuse, John Myron Manuel, OH, daughter, Jasmine Manuel, Syracuse, 2 sons: Desean Manuel, Cameron Thompson, all of Syracuse, aunts, Linda Saxon, Syracuse, Cordie Moore, Syracuse, Sally Bea LaneMattie Ellis, Florilla King, all of Alabama, Alica Washington, Syracuse, nieces, Jordyn Manuel, Maleika Manuel, nephews, Jeffrey Manuel, Michael Manuel, Jacob Margetin, cousins: Amy Lamica, Kim Saxon (Bernie), Carrie (Donnie) Smith, Willie Saxon, Amy Lagette, Dashawn Baptista, Mack (Isabelle) Smith, Jr., Rev. Major (Peggy) Lane, along with a host of special cousins and friends.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday from 9-11am at Living Waters Church of God in Christ, 121 Huron St., with services to follow.
