John G. Geis, 74, of Central Square, passed away peacefully with family by his side on Tuesday, July 11, 2023.
John was born in Syracuse, New York on June 15, 1949 to the late Edward and Carol Geis.
Before retirement, John was a dedicated welder for 36 years at Carrier Corporation. John was a lifetime member of Bridgeport Rod & Gun club as well as Mad River Club. He also belonged to North Syracuse Sportsman Club. John enjoyed shooting trap not just for the thrill of a 25 but for the camaraderie and lifetime friendships built. He always enjoyed following his Son and Grandchildren's activities, he was their biggest fan.
He is survived by his loving Wife of 53 years, Judy Geis; Son, John M. (Kristin) Geis; Papa to, Tyler Geis, Trevor Geis, Taryn Geis as well as his Grandpups, Charlie, Clyde, Chief and Cali; Two Sisters, Nancy (Doug) Wilcox and Ruth Mason; Brother in law, Bob (Diane) Coots; Sister in Law, Jeanne Coots; As well as several Nieces, Nephews and Cousins.
Visitation will take place on Monday, July 24th from 4-6 pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, N. Syracuse. A service will be held on Tuesday, July 25th at 11 am at the funeral home. Inurnment to follow in Hillside Cemetery in Central Square.
Thank you to Dr. Gary Freeman for the many years of care and a special thank you to the medical staff in the MSICU at St. Joseph's Hospital, Syracuse.
