John A. Gadaleta

August 17, 1967 — November 28, 2020

John Anthony Gadaleta, graduate of Bishop Grimes class of 1985, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, November 28, 2020, at age 53.

He leaves behind his wife, Kimber (O'Shea) Gadaleta; children Jamie Gadaleta and Dusty (Alex) Sass; granddaughter Dakota Sass; parents Roseanne (Scala) and Corrado Gadaleta; sister Connie Gadaleta; niece Nash (Julia) Nash; brother Anthony Gadaleta (Heather Colon-Smith); cousins Jeffrey Scala and Michael (Flavi) Scala; Uncle Nick (Jan) Scala; great-aunt Helen Perrotti (predeceased by great-uncle Ernest Perrotti); and grandmother Mary (Trovato) Scala (predeceased by grandfather Anthony Scala); mother-in-law Linda Slimack and his Yorkie-Poo Kobi. John is also pre-deceased by his beloved German Shephard Duke.

John had a passion for his family that was fostered not only by his parents but by his beloved Uncle Ernie and Aunt Helen. The three of them had a special and beautiful bond.

John had many friends who will miss him dearly. He made an impact through his love of music and entertainment, of sports and fitness, of the beach and the ocean. A coach of Jamie's Clay Panthers Football teams since Jamie was 5, John looked forward to being a part of the competition with his son. He was a die-hard Dallas Cowboys, NY Yankees and SU Sports fan.

He could be seen by everyone in the neighborhood running every day, rain or shine, without fail, to the elementary school and back. His love of music was second to none and will live on in every single song that he ever played for you, whether live on a stage or at home on his stereo. Sylvan Beach was his second home and Cocoa Beach, Florida, was where his soul felt true bliss with his wife and children.

John was not here for a long time, not nearly long enough, but he made the most out of what time he had. In his short life he has impacted so many others. Everyone has a story when they hear John "Poolside" Gadaleta, and he would not have it any other way. John Gadaleta, the runner, the coach, the music man, the storyteller, the impeccable dresser, the tannest man around. The son, brother, father, nephew, grandfather (Pop Pop), grandson and son-in-law. The husband and friend to all. The one and only who will be missed by so many.
