John, who was also known as Jack, was known to be an extremely loving and caring person. He often thought of others before himself, especially the ones he loved. A graduate of Marcellus High School, John operated the crane at the Solid Waste Authority, then worked for the US Postal Service before retiring. He enjoyed history, reading, hiking, biking, target shooting, coin collecting, cooking, road trips, and going to his childrens' sports games and school concerts. John also had a talent for singing and whistling. He became the youngest member of the quartet group called the Doobie Doos. John also enjoyed singing his children to sleep at night, and then his grandchildren. He will be missed dearly.
Per his wishes, there will be no services. There will be a celebration of John's life at a later date in Marcellus Park. John requested hiking to the top of Blue Mountain in the Adirondacks to release his ashes. Both places were dear to him and often brought his children and their friends there.
