John Fillmore Jones, 90, passed away on Tuesday at the VA Medical Center. He was born on May 10, 1923 in Syracuse and served in the US Army during WW II. He was a proud member of the VFW Post # 7290, the American Legion, he attended St. Rose of Lima Church and was employed by Greyhound Bus Lines for 33 years. He was predeceased by his parents, Percy and Pauline Jones.
Surviving are his sister, Addie (James) Mahshie, Jamesville, 4 children, John, Largo, FL, William (Susan), Stuart, FL, Maryann (Joseph) Dooley, Vestal, NY, Alan (Rebecca), Preston Park, PA, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 1-3pm at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main St., North Syracuse. Services will be held on Monday 10am at the funeral home.
Contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to the VA Medical Center, Syracuse.
