John F. Kelly, 75, of Syracuse, passed away suddenly at home on Tuesday. He was an Army veteran. He retired from the Syracuse DPW after 30 years as a dispatcher. John was a proud member of Alcoholics Anonymous, having achieved his 25 year chip. He was a lifetime fan of the Boston Red Sox and Notre Dame. He is predeceased by his twin sister, Joan Reale, in 2009.
John is survived by his children, Debra J. (Steven Wilson) Kelly, John V. (Dawn) Kelly and Patrick M. (Tina) Kelly; five grandchildren; a brother, James (Patricia) Collins; and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be Friday from 4-7PM at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main St., N. Syracuse. To keep with John's wishes, there will be no Service.
Contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to your local animal shelter.
