John P. Ennis

October 7, 1930 — June 23, 2020

John Ennis avid golfer, ice cream aficionado, ladies man departed this life on June 23, 2020.

John was born in Binghamton, NY on October 7, 1930 to his very Irish mom Catherine Mullin who insisted on calling him Jackie although he was named John at birth, the name Jack followed him his entire life. Jack was born the middle child in a brood of five. Matthew (Amos), Maryanne (Nan), James, and survived by his sister Alyce Hunt. Jacks passion for golf lead him on many adventures, in 1999 the Presidents Cup, 2004 the Senior Champion and the same year "The Super Senior Champion Award" at Green Lakes which alludes to the fact he still had it going on! As an adult Jack applied his childhood experiences as a "misfit" for the betterment of the boys at the Berkshire School, where they were housed for misbehaving. I am sure he taught them just how not to end up back there. Jack also spent much of his adult life in the field of sales, selling everything from cars to juicers, he could sell ice cubes to Eskimos! Jack was a frequent visitor to the Marble Farms freezers to satisfy his craving for ice cream, he had the ability to consume a half gallon of Neapolitan in a sitting. Jack was fond of all things New England, and trips to New Smyrna Beach Florida with his wife Madeline (deceased). Blackjack was his game and often tested his Irish luck in Las Vegas and Atlantic City with their best friends Sissy and Phil.

He leaves behind four children Susan (his favorite), Michael, David (deceased) and Christopher, three grandchildren, Jacquelin, Wayne, Whitney, three great grandchildren, Alena, Tayvon, and Catfish otherwise known as Carter.

the rains fall soft upon your fields
and until we meet again,
may God hold you in the palm of His hand. Amen.
