John P. Ellis, 75, of Syracuse, died on Monday, July 22, 2024, at Upstate University Hospital. He was born in Syracuse on June 13, 1949 the son of the late Edwin and Mildred Ellis. John worked for 34 years at WTVH 5 in Syracuse. He received the Syracuse Press Club's Career Achievement Award in 2001. He graduated from Manlius Military School in 1967 and attended Syracuse University.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Jo Anne Ellis; daughter, Elizabeth (Robert) Pietrafesa; two grandchildren, Rocco and Gia; and a brother, Christopher Ellis.
There will be no services at this time.
