John Earl Moseley, Jr. was unexpectedly called to heaven on July 5, 2016 at the age of 60.
As the pastor of Cornerstone Christian Church for over 20 years he dedicated his life to the Lord and brought many to know Jesus.
John is survived by his mother, Mary Moseley; wife, Carm (Myers) Moseley; children, Taylor John, and Morgan Lee (Chris); grandson, Jack; sisters Patty (Denny), Susan, Jackie, and Judy (Todd); brother, Kevin (Cecile) and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his father John Moseley, Sr.
John was born on May 28, 1956 to Mary and John Moseley, Sr. and was a life-long resident of Syracuse. He graduated from ESM high school in 1975 and Oswego State College in 1979 with a Bachelor's degree in computer science. On August 7th 1982 he married Carm with whom he shared 34 wonderful years of laughter and love.
John was a devoted father, husband, and pastor. He was an outstanding high school and college football running back. He was a true all around competitor, and was especially fiery during a spirited game of pitch.
Those who knew John were drawn to his light. He always had a welcoming smile, was an amazing listener, and gave sound spiritual advice. He would urge us to follow his example by trusting in God's plan.
His life is exemplified by John 10:14 "I am the Good Shepard. I know my own and my own know me, just as the Father knows me and I know the Father; and I lay down my life for the sheep." He will be deeply missed by his friends, family, congregation and all who knew him.
A funeral service is scheduled for 2 p.m. on July 10 at the North Syracuse Christian Church.
Calling hours for friends and family will follow from 3 to 6 for a gathering and celebration of John's life.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Cornerstone Christian Church.
