John R. Coniber, 96, of North Syracuse, passed away October 2, 2023. John was born in Syracuse, NY on April 22, 1927 to John and Dorothy Coniber.
John graduated from Baldwinsville Academy and went on to serve in the United States Army during WWII. He was in the 88th Infantry Division and did a tour of duty in Trieste, Italy. John retired from the Accounting Department at General Motors Fisher Guide Division, Syracuse. He was also a licensed Locksmith with a 24 hour service. He was a member of the Masons Seneca River Lodge 32°. John was an avid fisherman who was always taking friends out on the boat. In his free time, he enjoyed cutting wood for the fire place, gardening and farm work. He loved cats, and always had more than one. John would have a cup of coffee and share a donut with his dog every morning. John loved to spend time with family gathered around a campfire sharing stories about old times. He was a very caring father who was loved by his children.
He was preceded in death by his Parents; Wife, Mary Galloway; and Brother, George A. Coniber.
He is survived by his Daughter, Donna (Robert Vick) Coniber; Son, David (Debra A.) Coniber; and many Nieces and Nephews.
Interment will be at North Syracuse Cemetery.
