John J. Coleman

December 31, 1950 — May 1, 2017

John J. Coleman of Syracuse, went to be with his Lord and Family on May 1, 2017. John was born the son of the late Joseph and Helen (Barbato) Coleman.

He graduated from Henninger High School, OCC and the Culinary of Arts in California. John retired from St Joseph's Hospital due to his illness where he had worked 36 years in Dietary and Purchasing.

He was a wonderful person, always wanting to cook meals for parties, receptions or anything to do with food. John was such a giving man, never selfish. He will be missed greatly, but never forgotten.

John is survived by his brother; Gerard(Cheryl) Coleman, three aunts, several cousins, his best friends; Tom and Diane Donovan and god-daughter Kirsi Donovan.

The Family will receive friends on Sunday from 2-4pm at New Comer Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10am St Rose of Lima Catholic Church. Burial will follow at North Syracuse Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to St Jude Children's Hospital in John's memory.

The family wishes to thank the 4th Floor Staff of Iroquois Nursing Home especially Rhonda, Erika, Tiffany, Mike, KK and Kris for their exceptional care.
