John A. Brown

February 24, 1944 — April 8, 2020

John A. Brown "Brownie", 76, of Clay, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family, after a long illness. He was born in Syracuse on February 24, 1944 son of the late James and Mary Perella. Brownie was an all around athlete, who loved the game of baseball and basketball. After his service in the National Guard, he became a basketball referee and baseball coach. Brownie worked for Vernon Downs for 50 years and was loved and admired by all that met him. Brownie worked hard his entire life to take care of his family that he cherished. Nothing mattered more to Brownie than family and friends. He enjoyed life to the fullest.
