John "Nick" Bennie, 90, of Camillus, passed away peacefully at his home after a brief illness. He was born on December 6, 1928, in Mattydale, NY. Nick served with Honors in the US Army as a Sargeant First Class during the Korean War. He owned and operated North Kolorama Floors until he retired. Nick was an usher at St. Joseph's Church in Camillus for over 40 years. He had a passion for fishing, hunting, gardening and outings with his family.
Above all, the joy he shared with his family, gave him the most pleasure in his life. John is survived by his loving wife Frances (DiFlorio) of 67 years, four daughters: Elaine (John) Pierce, Diane Bennie, Susan Bennie, Patricia (Rich) Pitzeruse, 5 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, 4 sisters: Mary DeSocio, Dorothy Tuori, Shirley Wylde, Eleanor Tassone, along with many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, John & Irene and his 2 brothers, Lewis and Anthony.
Calling hours will be held at St. Joseph's Church, Camillus on Wednesday from 10:30am-11:30am followed by a funeral mass at 11:30am. Burial will take at Woodlawn Cemetery
