September 13, 1954 — April 30, 2020
John "Steve" Barry passed away on April 30, 2020 after a short illness.
He is pre-deceased by his parents, Fran and John Barry of Liverpool NY, his sister, Cathy Barry, and his beloved aunt, Margaret Kladatos of Syracuse.
Steve graduated from Liverpool High School in 1971, entered the Marine Corps, and was honorably discharged after four years.
He began working for Niagara Mohawk (National Grid) and worked there for over 40 years until he retired in 2017. Steve was passionate about gardening, loved animals (especially cats), feeding the birds, and owned many tropical fish tanks. He was also a voracious reader.
He is survived by his wife Sally (Blood) Barry and his beloved daughter Stephanie Barry.
He was a generous, sensitive, kind man who will be greatly missed.
Donations to the Humane Society of CNY or the SPCA will be appreciated.
