John Baker Jr., 78, of North Syracuse, passed away Wednesday. John is a Korean War veteran serving in the Air Force and retiring with 22 years of service. He also retired from US Air with 33 years of service and worked 18 years with Avis Budget Group. John was an avid NY Yankees fan. He is predeceased by a daughter, Pauline M. Green and a son, John Baker III.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Setsuko Baker; three daughters, Elizabeth O. Baker, Judy Ann Doherty and Susan T. Baker; a son, Mjr. (Ret.) Robert K. Baker; 11 grandchildren, two great grandchildren; and a sister, Mary Moore.
Services will be Tuesday, 12 Noon at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main St., N. Syracuse. Burial will follow at the Onon. Co. Veteran's Memorial Cemetery. Calling Hours will be Tuesday from 10AM to 12 Noon, before services.
