Joel J. Richey, 66, of Liverpool, passed away Friday at James Square Health & Rehab. Joel was an avid Hamm Radio Operator for most of his life and a member of the Barge Canal Yacht Club. He worked for Western Union and more recently, Bryant & Stratton as an Electronics Instructor. Joel is predeceased by his father, Joseph O. Richey in 1994.
He is survived by his companion of 22 years, Carole Krzywda; daughters, Mary and Elizabeth Richey; his mother, Marion E. Richey; a sister, Janet (John) Adams; 2 granddaughters, Amy Richey and Sara Muramoto; and a nephew, John J. Adams.
Services will be Tuesday, 10 Am at St. Rose of Lima Church. Burial will be in the North Syracuse Cemetery. Friends are invited to visit with his family on Monday from 4-7PM at New Comer Family Funeral Home, North Syracuse.
