JoAnne M. Grant
August 28, 2012

JoAnne M. Grant 54, of North Syracuse and Lakewood, CO passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at home, surrounded by her loving family and dog. She bravely battled ovarian cancer since 2009, never losing her quirky sense of humor or positive attitude.

JoAnne was born in Guelph, Ontario and spent her formative years in North Syracuse, graduating from Cicero High School in 1976. Definitely the adventurer of the family, JoAnne traveled to Germany with her Camp Fire group while in high school, then after graduating, spent the summer working at a fish cannery in Kenai, Alaska. Not long after, JoAnne "ran away from home"
(as she liked to say) to Denver, CO where she remained until recently. While in Denver, JoAnne had been employed with Xerox for over 27 years.

JoAnne is survived by her father Ronald Grant; sisters Laura Herne (Douglas Reynolds), Patricia (Bruce) Redfield and Marybeth (Peter) Vasiloff; nieces and nephews Sarah (Nikki Jay Jipson) and Caitlin Herne; Alexander and Erin Redfield; Victoria, Alicia and Matthew Vasiloff; and the light of her life, grand-niece, Irie Jipson. Also left to cherish her memory are her loving friends Mindi Bane and Gin Watlington of Lakewood, CO; Madelaine Midyett and Denise Krejci of Denver, CO; Sue and Gene Hernendez of Crossville, TN and her constant companion Sara Louise Poppy-doo Bodine. JoAnne is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles and cousins as well as her "Colorado Family." JoAnne was predeceased by her mother Rose Grant in 2003.

Memorial services celebrating her life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in JoAnne's memory can be made to Cat Care Society of Denver, 5787 W. 6th Ave. Lakewood, CO 80214; Hospice of CNY or the American Cancer Society.
