Joan Young, 71, of Mattydale, passed away Tuesday at home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Syracuse, NY, she retired after 30 years with Roth Bros. Smelting Co. Joan was a loving mother and grand- mother and was a member of the Luther Memorial Lutheran Church. She is predeceased by two sisters and two brothers.
Joan is survived by her son, Ronald (Christine) Walberger; three daughters, Nancy (John) Del Vecchio, Judy Walberger, Patty Bellucci; three brothers, seven sisters; five grandchildren, Jessica Barnes, Nicholas Bellucci, Aaron, Katelin and Stefanie Walberger; several nieces and nephews and her special dog, Penny.
Services will be held on Saturday at 10 AM in Luther Memorial Lutheran Church. Friends may visit with her family on Friday from 4-7 PM at New Comer Family Funeral Home, North Syracuse.
Contributions may be made to Hospice of CNY.
