Joan Osterhout

Joan Osterhout, of Mattydale, passed away Feb. 24th, 2022 at age 85.

She was the daughter of Edwin Klink & Helen Schakowski Klink. Joan was one of fourteen children.

Joan is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Edwin, Jerry, and Martin; and sisters, Doris, Rita, and Karlene.

Joan is survived by her brothers and sisters, Richard, Jimmy, Thomas, Helen, Marilyn, Theresa, and Linda; her children, Regina Osterhout, Joanne Osterhout, Joseph Osterhout, Michael Osterhout, and Gregory Osterhout; Joan's lifelong partner Rocco; grandchildren, Crystal Walts Decarciofolo, James Walts, Lauren Osterhout, and Ian Osterhout; great grandchildren, James, Terra, Alexandria, Jeremy, Juliette, and Dominic; four great-great grandchildren; and many many nieces and nephews.

Joan's career started at General Electric, where she worked for 12 years, after which she worked for her brother Richard for many years. Joan "retired" but continued to work for several years as a secretary for her son Michael.

Joan loved life and her family. She was loved by all she knew, and will be missed dearly.

Calling hours Wednesday March 2nd from 4pm to 7pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 705 North Main St. N. Syracuse, where her service will also be held Thursday, March 3rd at 1pm. Entombment to follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.
