Joan Elizabeth Monaghan, age 69, of Syracuse passed away on Tuesday at the Francis House. She was born in Syracuse on June 1, 1949 daughter of the late Donald and Mabel Fox.
Joan retired from Bristol Myers-Squibb. Joan was a work-aholic in her early years and also was an avid bowler. She enjoyed her time with her grandchildren and her trips to the casino.
Joan is survived by her children, John C (Amy) Monaghan, Jr., Kevin (Michele) Monaghan, Daughter, Kelly (Todd Corron) Monaghan, grandchildren, TJ, Alyssa (Ray) Wolf, John (Ashley) Monaghan III, Nathaniel Clark, Mikayla Fendt, Kylie Monaghan, Kenzie Monaghan, 2 great grandchildren, Sofia Monaghan, Wyatt Wolf, siblings; Bonnie (Kurt) Pederson, Stephanie (Denis) Mainville, Dawn (Allen) Sabin, Debbie Newton, Donald (Linda) Fox, Thomas Fox, Mike (Connie) Fox, Ron Fox, Christopher (Melodee) Fox, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her husband, John C. Monaghan, Sr.
A celebration of Joan's Life will be on Saturday from 1-4pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 705 N. Main St., N. Syracuse.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Francis House, 108 Michaels Ave., Syracuse, NY 13208.
Burial will take place in the Spring at St. Mary's Cemetery, DeWitt.
