Joan M. Crosby, 83, of Cicero, passed away on Saturday at Loretto Fahey Nursing Home. She was born in Syracuse, daughter of Frank and Anita Crosby. She graduated from Eastwood High School and resided the rest of her life in Cicero. Joan worked for the Community Chest and retired from Hubbard Drugs. She was a longtime devoted member of Bona Fide-Hiawatha –Solvay Chapter #567 of the Eastern Star. Cooking on the charcoal grill, reading , watching/listening to sports, long phone calls with friends, sleeping late and a nice cold beer were some of Joan's favorite pastimes. Dogs were a big part of Joan's life and she had many. Among her favorite "companions" were Peppy and Hi-Lo. Joan will fondly be remembered by her friends and neighbors, especially her friends of 47 years , Teri & Dick Martin and good neighbors, Bill & Terri Howland & her caring aide who became a friend, Joanne Wetzel.
Joan's life will be celebrated at a graveside memorial, Thursday 10 am at Woodlawn Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest with her parents and grandparents.
