Joan C. Loperfido

Joan Loperfido, 88, passed peacefully in her home with family on August 3, 2017.
Joan moved to North Syracuse in 1990 and was the smiling face at the front desk of the Village of North Syracuse, from where she retired. She never lost the accent nor the toughness from the place she was raised – New York City. She was straight-forward, honest and direct and taught others to be independent and face their fears.
Her post retirement passion was volunteering for the North Syracuse Fire Department. She loved "her boys" and any expressions of sympathy in her memory can be made to them at 109 Chestnut St, North Syracuse, NY 13212.
Joan loved life - people, children, animals and nature. She loved to walk and swim, sing and dance, and laugh. She is survived by three children, Linda (Dan) Duggan, Joseph (Vicky) Loperfido, and Michelle (Tom) McDonald, seven grandchildren, and six great grandchildren.
She strongly believed that "life is for the living" and did not want services, and those wishes will be honored.
