Joan M. Jones
March 5, 1934 — July 19, 2022
I lost my bestest friend on Earth July 19, 2022. Joan Margaret Jones was 88 years young when she passed away after an unexpected illness. She was born in Malone, NY and grew up in a household that spoke Canadian French and English.
She loved the various titles she held throughout her life: Daughter to Leo and Agnes Boissey, Beloved Wife of 56 years to David Jones, Step-Mom to Pamela (Rick) Gardner, Grandma to Erica (Josh), Eric (Rebecca), and Amy, Great-Grandma to Mason and Gabriel, Grammie to Jasper and Daisy, Executive Secretary at Crouse-Hinds, Expert Seamstress of wedding gowns and custom-tailored clothing, but the title she cherished most was Mother.
It is my privilege to be the daughter of such an amazing person. I love and miss her with all of my heart, and I will always be her Kimmie. She bestowed upon me her love of sewing, cooking, gardening, and cats. She taught me how to laugh through her sense of humor. She showed me what unconditional love is. But the greatest thing of all that she taught me, through her example, was how to have a close, personal relationship with our Creator, Jehovah God.
She loved to be with her Christian family, the North Syracuse Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. She was a faithful member for 47 years and made many close friends there.
It was scriptures like 2 Corinthians 1:3, 4 and Isaiah 40:29, 31 that allowed her to face trials with courage and faith. And it is the resurrection hope found at John 5:28, 29 that will get me through these days without her. When that resurrection hope is realized, I will be there with open arms and a sewing machine to welcome her back. I treasure the memories we made with our many mother-daughter trips to Myrtle Beach. I got my love of traveling from all of the trips Mom and Dad went on.
Mom's service will be held virtually on Saturday, July 30th at 2 pm. Please see the family for details. We'd also love it if you would drop a note in the guest book. We have had many phone calls, texts, and cards over the last couple of months that we greatly appreciate.
