Joan F. Hummer, 80, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully on Tuesday at Upstate University Hospital with family by her side. She was born on April 15, 1933 in Rochester, daughter of the late John & Josephine Danes. She retired from Lockheed Martin in 1996 after 38 years. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert S. Hummer in 1986, along with her brothers, James, Jerel & Jeff, sisters, Judith & Jo Lilena.
Survived by her Brother John and (MaryAnn) Danes, her Sister Janice and (Thomas) Klasen, Her daughter Cathy Hummer (Cary Carpenter) and son, Robert (Heidi) Hummer, 5 grandchildren: Robert J., Jaime C., Michael R., Mark A. Hummer, & Brian Zimmer, 3 great grandchildren, Thomas, Aubrianna & Christopher, along with nieces, nephews & cousins.
Calling hours will be held on Friday from 5-7pm at New Comer Funeral Home, N. Syracuse. Graveside services will be held on Saturday 10am at Assumption Cemetery.
