Jerry D. Curcie Sr., 59, of West Monroe, passed away peacefully at home with family at his side. He resided 35 years in West Monroe. He was an avid Auto Racer at the Brewerton and Fulton speedway, Go Cart racing, official at West Amboy Speedway, Horse shoe player at Hooterville and bowled at Green Acres in Central Square. He loved camping, bingo and enjoyed life to the fullest, especially his grandchildren. He worked as a flagger for the NYS Thruway construction, an assembler for Carrier Corp. and a service manager at Elmwood Tire.
He is predeceased by his father, John D. Curcie Sr., a sister, Railyn Curcie, step father, William Hobbs and his mother in law, Doris Carista.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Diane (Carista) Curcie; two sons, Jerry "JJ" D. (Kelly) Curcie Jr. and Samuel J. Curcie; his mother, Louise J. Curcie; three grandchildren, Stephanie Seeley, Dylan Curcie and Bradley Curcie; a sister, Roxann (Brett) Kelly; five brothers, John (Jackie) Curcie, James Curcie, Jody Curcie, Jeffrey (Lisa) Curcie and Jason (Patty) Curcie; a father in law, Samuel Carista; four brothers in law, Edward (Lynn) Carista, Michael (Kolleen) Carista, William (Mariea) Carista and Glen (Mary) Carista; four sisters in law, Cindy (Carl) Ottaway, Sharon (Charles) Morey, Wendy (Earl) Becker and Doris (Doug) Halsey; numerous nieces and nephews; extended family; and longtime family friend, Rev. Michael Thesier.
Services will be Thursday, 11AM at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main St., N. Syracuse. Burial will follow at the West Monroe Cemetery. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4-8 PM at the funeral home.
