Jerome "Jere" Auerbach, 82, of Liverpool, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 23rd with his loved ones by his side. Jere was born in Bethlehem, PA to the late Lillian and Nathan Auerbach. After High School, he joined the U.S. Navy where he proudly served for 27 years until his retirement as a Senior Chief. Upon retiring from the Navy, he began a second career with General Electric as a Sonar/Radar Technician. He retired from General Electric after over 10 years of service. Jere was an avid gun collector, enjoyed fishing on his boat, was a Hamm Radio Operator and loved John Wayne movies. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family.
He was predeceased by the love of his life, Barbara, after over 40 years together. Jere was also predeceased by his brother, Benjamin Auerbach and several other members of his extended family.
He is survived by his children, David (Kathy) Auerbach and Lori (Tony Roe) Marshall; grandchildren, Taylor, Arianna, Breanna and Kaylee; step-grandchildren, Ronald, Lucas and Bridgett; great-grandchildren, Alexander, Jensen and Anela; and other members of the extended family.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 29th at 10am in North Syracuse Cemetery with military honors to follow. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
