Jeffrey F. Schmidt

It is with heavy heart, Jeffrey F. Schmidt, 53, of North Syracuse, passed away on February 8, 2025. He was a loving brother, uncle and friend who left us too soon. He was born in Syracuse, New York on March 7, 1971 to Frederick and Maryann Schmidt. Jeffrey was employed with Grasshopper Landscaping, where he worked as a Crew Leader for many years. He loved spending time with his loved ones, including attending his niece and nephews sporting events. One of Jeffrey's greatest passions was the outdoors. He was an avid and skilled hunter, who also enjoyed fishing and hosting game dinners. A true mentor at heart, he found joy in teaching young kids how to hunt, passing his love and respect for the outdoors to future generations. His patience, guidance, care and compassion for others, will leave a lasting impact on all who knew him. His teachings will continue to live on in the hearts of those he mentored. His kindness knew no bounds. 

Jeffrey was preceded in death by his father, Frederick Schmidt and mother, Maryann Schmidt-Bovalino. 

He is survived by his sister, Kristine (Shane) Benedict; two nephews, Jake and Joseph Benedict; three nieces, Madison Benedict, Madisson Massey and Lacey Massey; many friends that were more like family including, Paul and Patty Massey, Butch and Kathy Westcott, Brendyn Flood, Ryan Murtaugh and the Haselmayer family. 

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, February 19, 2025 from 4-7 pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, North Syracuse.
