Jeannie Snyder

May 1, 1956 — October 28, 2024

Jeannie Marie (Griffin) Snyder, 68, of Parish, NY passed away October 28, 2024 after a long and courageous battle with multiple sclerosis. Jeannie was born in Malone, New York on May 1, 1956 to Garth and the late MaryAnn (Maneely) Griffin. She graduated from Holy Family High School in Massena, then furthered her education at Canton ATC with a business degree. She worked for many years in retail management. She had a deep love for her family and her dogs, Shiloh, Tucker, and Hunter. Her interests included crocheting afgans and creating floral arrangements which she gifted to family and friends for weddings and special occasions, boating, a love of fishing, sitting on the front porch feeding the birds, and her friend Bob the tailless chipmunk. She enjoyed surfing the web for hours in search of online freebies and playing Words with Friends with her best friend Peggy. She loved camping, the outdoors, and especially her log home in the woods. She loved her chocolate malts from Vicky's Tasty Treats and was obsessed with her Dunkin Donuts coffee. Most importantly she loved spending time outside in nature enjoying her home and walking her dog before the disease made that impossible. Jeannie will be remembered by all for her feisty spirit, never afraid to fight or argue or speak her mind. She was a sassy individual full of piss and vinegar as her son remembers her.

She is survived by her husband of 40 years, David Snyder; son, Charlie "Boomer" (Stacy) Nadeau; granddaughter, Charlise Nadeau; siblings, Karen (Tom) Dufort, Tom (Carolyn) Griffin, Aletha (John) Babbie, Jeri-Lyn (Randy) Blow, Robert (Angie) Griffin, Rebecca (Shawn) Bleakley; several nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews; and her inseparable companion and protector, her dog Hunter.

Per Jeannie's request, there will be no services but memorial contributions may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society of NY in her name.
