Jeanne Szilagyi, 77, of Clay, passed away December 2, 2021.
She was born in Syracuse, New York on May 4, 1944. Jeanne was a member of the CSEA Union and a longtime employee of North Syracuse Central School District. She loved cardinals, cats, skunks, and any wildlife that came to the back door. She was an avid reader, Pogo player, and loved spending time with her grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her father, John Gilmour, Sr.; mother, Judith Detore; son, Derwood Barber, Jr.; granddaughter, Alison Barber; and a sister, Judith Hamner.
She is survived by her husband Al Szilagyi; two daughters, Rena (Scott) Moore, Emily (Eric) Paninski; two sons, Kevin Barber, and Derwood Martin (Lisa) Barber; grandchildren, Connor, Anthony, Kevin Jr., Nicholas, Joseph, Grayson, Damian, Sam, Mack, and Marissa; great grandchildren, David and Kevin; step-mother, Delores Gilmour; brother, John Gilmour; three sisters, Elaine (Louis) Cosentino, Joan Davis, and Tina Gilmour; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Family and friends may call on Wednesday, December 8, 2021 from 4:00 pm-7:00 pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals - North Syracuse, 705 N. Main St, Syracuse, where funeral services will be held Thursday at 10:00 am.
Interment at Woodlawn Cemetery.
